Ji'ranah Mosque
Where the Prophet entered ihram for Umrah on his return from Hunayn.
Ji'ranah lies about 25 kilometres north-east of Mecca on the road to Taif. In the eighth year after the Hijrah, returning from the Battle of Hunayn, the Prophet camped here, distributed the spoils here and entered ihram from here to perform Umrah.
Because it lies outside the Haram boundary, those staying in Mecca enter ihram at the Ji'ranah Mosque for an additional Umrah. Our group travels here with our guide, hears the history of the place, makes the intention and returns to the Haram to complete the Umrah.
This visit is included in our Umrah programmes.
